Late into the night the fog thickens. This is the perfect time for grave robbers to strike, but this grave robber is after something far more important. Answers. Vierra and James made their way from their home and morgue to the graveyard to find answers to a previous case she had worked on. If one looked at the graveyard one could see floating balls of light. Even though these were actually lanterns, they had a haunting appeal to them. Like souls in the distance searching for their own answers to their deaths. Marcus, a brown Clydesdale, grunted and patted at the ground with his hoof. He was a little worn from the trip from the morgue to the graveyard pulling the heavy autopsy carriage that Vierra had made herself.
"Easy boy," Vierra said to the horse as she made her way off of the drivers seat. She walked over to the horse and patted him on the side, thanking him for the ride. "Don't want to make too much noise or people may think that we're actually grave robbers."
"See," a voice sounded off behind Vierra. James jumped off of the passenger side to the carriage and made his way over to Vierra, "This is why you are never invited to any social event with the rest of the Aristocrats around here." He walked over to the back of the carriage and opened the doors. One could see all of the autopsy tools in the back. "Besides, what gave you the right to exhume a body anyway."
Vierra smiled as she put her hood over her head. Vierra made her way to the back of the carriage then pulled James's hood over his head. "Let's just say I left a note on Frederick's desk explaining my plans tonight." She pulled a shovel out of the back of the carriage and then walked down to the grave. "Our fellow back stabbers can wait. Social events are not a big deal to me anyway." Vierra made her way down to the grave site she had chosen and then stabbed the shovel into the ground. "James, we are digging this grave."
James shrugged and followed Vierra down the grave. "I remember this case. You couldn't complete it because there wasn't something right with this case."
"James, you wonder why I take you along on our adventures, but yes this one was a case that I had to take you with me. Per Father's orders."
"Why are you exhuming her?"
"Because her father revealed to me that she was actually adopted into the family," Vierra stabbed her shovel into the dirt and a solemn look crossed her face.
"That's the look. Why are you exhuming her?"
"Because she had her body modified by a doctor. She was a hybrid," she continued to part the dirt from the ground and then looked at James. "Do you not think it's odd?"
"That a hybrid would put herself through so much hell just to be human?" James asked as they two hit the casket.
"Exactly, but most of all... The question is. Who knew?" Vierra looked at her brother then wiped her brow.
