Another day, another madness part 2

While stepping into the supposedly large kitchen, Frederick couldn't help but to get a rather surprised look on his face. Stocked upon each other, and all the way reaching to the ceiling. Were numerous boxes, all destined for tonights gala. It was hard to count how many there were, but from the looks of it. It should be more then plenty, in fact you could call it quite an achievement that a young girl with a small team of assistant bakers could actually create so many.

'Well, this surely is unexpected..'

He followed her, as she wheeled herself through the kitchen, which was now more a maze of boxes. Only so that she could show him the small displays of appetizers she had put up. A large variety of pastries, cupcakes and mini-pies so to speak. With each and every one of them, looking tastier then the one before.
However looks can be deceiving, Frederick had learned that first hand in the past. Sure it was an entirely different situation then mere cupcakes, but what he had learned from back then was applicable to a lot of situations. And when it came down to serving the rich and fabulous of Braedon, then it was more of a necessity.

Slowly he reached down for on of the smaller cakes, which was flat and shaped in a round form. The top of it was sugar coated with some vaguely red color, and appeared rather squishy. However the moment he laid his fingers around the appealing bakery good, he felt the top of it was actually quite stern.
Then Frederick noticed something else about the small appetizer, something rather peculiar and showed real craftsmanship.
By holding the cake right in front of his face, Frederick could see a small pattern around the edge. Leaf like decorations, molded into the crust of the cake. He suddenly realized that these people must have been working through the nights as well, if they had created so many of these cakes. With careful decorations as this.

Without any further delay, Frederick stuffed the small cake into his mouth. And started to chew through the crusty exterior. Which caused a sweet explosion of flavor in his mouth. The moment he had sunk his teeth into the cake, it's creamy stuffing would escape from the crack and melt away on his tongue. Tingling every tastebud the human mouth could have. The combination of crumbling crust, together with the fresh yet sweet stuffing, instantly urged his instincts to have more. To stuff himself with every last one of these cakes right here.

Yet the moment he would grasp for another, he realized he was still in the company of the paralyzed girl. Quickly he retracted his arm, and a soft red blush had appeared on his cheeks. Showing a momentarily sign of embarrassment. He wouldn't say it out loud, but his current face told more then enough that these delicacies were up to his standing. And thus the rest of the upper echelon of the town.

Frederick cleared his throat as he pulled himself back together. 'That they haven't already' he said coldly, obviously trying to keep up his act. Which was also a response to Dulcis's offer to have her helpers to put the rest of the boxes into another cart.

However she had already rolled away, back to the front of the store. Which was probably for the best, since she already got paid beforehand. There was nothing left to be said. So just like her Frederick turned around and approached the helpers, telling them to load up the remaining boxes. While semi-threaten them with one of his men, who would make sure the pastries would arrive at the right location.

'Oh, before I go.' he said to the nearest helper. 'Give this to your boss, hate to say it but she has a proper job. Only fair she can see her creations in action herself' As Frederick said that he handed the helper a small card of sturdy paper. 'It's an invitation to tonights ball.'

With that Frederick wandered off through the back.
