PERSONALITY
As cool and collected as he may seem at first, he is a man of little words and much action. Talking has always been something he considered to be cheap. It proved nothing until it is displayed. Promises are always hollow until fulfilled, no matter the previous intention. It was the pessimistic way he saw words, which is why he tends to seal his mouth. Words just simply can't hurt him, actions hurt him. This being said, he is also immune to the judgment of others around him, nowhere near self-consious, and is willing to challenge them into combat if they continue to act so arrogant around him. The one trigger in his nerves is the arrogance in others, always speaking words and acting like they are better than anyone else around them, from there, he just goes straight to combat with them. No challenges, nothing of the sort. It was something he felt should be dealt with before it spreads even further. Though he doesn't care about the negative words of others, he knows that those around him are hurt by them. So he is willing to stand up for those who are being put down, using his own retorts to make sure that the victims mental tormentors flee the scene.
In combat, he is rather quiet, no taunts or anything of the sort. He takes his fighting opponent very seriously, regardless if he knows how much power they have or not. They deserve respect, regardless of what the dispute is over. Key battles at his best against an evenly matched opponent, makes sure not to overdo the slaughter against opponents weaker than him, and will always try to win against those he knows is stronger than him. Regardless of odds, for some reason, he always has hope that he would be able to beat his opponent, which is why he never accepts defeat. This, unfortunately, is a weakness. In combat, he never admits defeat, even when his body is at it's breaking point. This has gotten him into much danger before, a few trips to the hospital, one time even knocked into a coma. Regardless, he feels that running way from an opponent was a sign that his actions were not enough to beat whatever was troubling his life. Actions is the only thing he feels he has left, since words were useless to him. Therefore, he refuses to go down, even while it is clear that he has lost.
MOTIVATION
Battle: Nothing like a good one to keep anyones blood pumping. Naturally, Key doesn't look for fights by causing them, he often fights in self-defense. This surprisingly happens a lot.
FEAR
Illusions: He isn't exactly mentally at peace due to his rather haunting past. If those memories were to revive again, he might lose his mind.
BIOGRAPHY
Raised in a foreign country known as Shadelle, a tribe that is based on survival of the fittest, or get executed otherwise. Key was raised in this tribe, and was taught all of the concepts he needed to learn magic by the age of five, very young, but what does a dictatorship care for age? Shadelle has put a certain time for parents to teach their child how to fight and use magic, the whole course being until the child is eighteen. If even one late bloomer is seen with a lesson they should have learned failing, the parents both are killed right in front of the child, but the child is left unharmed. Eventually, the child will be unable to feed themselves, clothes themselves, and after a few slowly pain-filled days, the child goes down to the grave with their parents. Nea and Silico Takaro were parents of Key, and they were rather fortunate to have a child that loved to learn about magic, so there was not a moment in which his parents were even interrogated by the executers. By the age of eight, he has learned the type of magic that he is able to use, simply moving objects with his mind and pushing them over to other locations.
By this time, the boy was becoming a little bit more aware of the situations going on around him. Being ignorant and a child, he was expected to be fooled. However, he was a rather bright child, and was able to notice what was unethical about a few houses screaming, why some would never have people come out of their houses again after the screaming. Why didn't his end up the same way? This unfortunately caused his to slack on his studies a little bit, so that he could focus a little bit more on this case. Nea and Silico were unable to catch up on this however, and so they continued with their regular methods instead of trying to improve it. They were unable to catch him on this, giving Key plenty of time to find out what happened to the people by the age of thirteen. By this time, he was able to create illusions and use light and dark magic. However, he was unable to explain why some people were being murdered, so he decided to go outside a little bit more now. The lessons were being taught and turned in just in time now, not ahead of schedule like before. His parents were a little scared now, but had faith in Key that he knew what he was doing... Big mistake. By the age of 17, he witnessed two parents being yelled at by one of the executers, an axe in his hand. The reason was yelled rather loud and clear, then two swings and two dead bodies. The cruelty... So that was what happened to the children parents who couldn't teach their children in time. The crying little girl, screaming, kicking on the ground as the men left her to mentally suffer. By this time, he was able to use sleeping magic, and so by walking in, he gave her a peace of mind before picking her up and taking him over to his house. She should be safe there.
Two dead bodies were there as a nice little welcome home treat, his studies slacking heavily to the point in which they didn't even have to do it in front of his eyes anymore. The child in his arms, that was the only one he had left to call a family member. One who shared the same fate as him, one who cried just as heavily as he did due to the unfairness of Shadelle... Their education system caused them so much pain. Though the girl would probably rather be homes, Key quickly made a break for it out of Shadelle with a black cloak loosely over his head. The girl on his back got one of her own as well, though it was his coat, so it was expected that it would be a little bit too big for her. A lucky escape from the country, though there are bounty hunters after the two of them for leaving, they were able to press far for four years, wanting to find a break.
